Chateau de Canisy

An animal sanctuary

Visitors will discover a true animal sanctuary at the heart of the estate. Château de Canisy is actively committed to preserving endangered native Norman breeds, including the Cotentine and Crèvecœur hens, the Fossés goat, the Roussin de la Hague and Avranchin sheep, as well as the Black Honeybee. The estate also welcomes remarkable species such as alpacas, Angora goats, Valais Blacknose sheep, Rove goats, Araucana hens, and Shetland ponies.

A living farm

Spread across three historic farms — the Ménagerie farm, the Orangerie farm, and the Vallée farm — these species make Canisy a true living conservatory of Norman biodiversity.
